Tree plantation campaign

at Hindu College, Pattabiram, Chennai.

Hindu College is a famous higher education centre located in Pattabiram, near Avadi, Chennai. This institution has been serving students from different walks of living and socio-economic conditions in a commendable manner. A lot of students have proved their metal in academic as well as arts and sports grounds.

The staff and students of this college engaged in a massive tree plantation drive on 26^th and 27^th of November 2007. Shanthivanam provided them with 110 tree saplings belonging to different species. The volunteer students dug all the pits around the big play ground behind the college buildings. The Principal inaugurated the plantation drive by planting a tree sapling. All the students took over enthusiastically and all the 110 saplings were planted in a short period of time.

Prof Kuppan, from Dept. of History led the whole program remarkably. He was well supported by his staffmates.
