Green Avenues

Baring a very small stretch, almost the entire length of our National & State highways looks dry and barren. The weary traveler has no respite in the hot summer and there is no compensation for the unlimited emission of carbon monoxide by the ever-increasing vehicular population.

Highways, therefore remains the most ideal location for taking up tree plantation campaigns. This not only adds to the aesthetic look, but also ensures that enough oxygen is generated to make up for the high vehicular pollution. With the active support of the corporate sector and motivated individuals, vast stretches of the highways can be brought under the green cover, thus adding to the aesthetic look and providing much needed respite from the ever increasing vehicular pollution.

Eco Home

A project specially aimed at motivating families, housewives in particular, to set up home gardens. It not only takes the message of spreading greenery to family level, but also benefits the family by way of fresh organic fruits and vegetables from their own backyard.

Seeds and saplings can be provided to interested families with all guidance to set up the garden most suiting their house. This scheme also extends to residential associations and flat promoters to take it up as a collective effort. Contact us for more details.

Green an Acre

Approximately 350 to 400 trees can very comfortably be raised in an acre of land. Also, since the trees are concentrated in a single locality, maintaining and follow-up measures would be very convenient. Shanthivanam therefore invites socially inclined individuals to take up initiative to develop wastelands into green belts under this project.

It is not mandatory to plant the trees in public or government land. Individuals can even undertake this project in their own private land. The ultimate aim is to spread greenery in every piece of land irrespective of the ownership.

Either trees falling under the category of ‘Endangered Species’ or other species can be taken up under this project. The cost of sponsoring an acre of plantation would be as follows:

• Ordinary species : Rs.50/- per plant * 400 = Rs.20,000/-
• Endangered species: Rs.200/- per plant * 400 = Rs.40,000/-

One Man One Tree

Shanthivanam would work in association with the corporate sector and the Government departments to ensure plantation of trees within their premises or elsewhere so that at least one tree is planted for every single staff in their concern.

Educational institutions would also be encouraged to plant one tree for every single student in their institution. With positive response from various sectors, we can ensure a complete revolution with respect to enhancing the green cover.

Those institutions with little or no space for plantation within their campus can very much contribute to planting the trees elsewhere. Large areas of wasteland can be converted into green plantations if everybody takes this proposal in the right spirit. Interested people may contribute to plant a tree on special occasions in their or their beloveds’ names so that the celebration is painted in green colors. Please contact us for more details.
