1. A conservatory of Endangered Species.
Vision of the Project
“To orient future generation to the plight of endangered species and to help them understand and gain perspective on human issues that continues to endanger species and threaten our global environment”.
Objectives of the project
- Prevention of endangerment and extinction of valuable medicinal and other wild species of plants.
- Bringing environmental consciousness among future generation.
- Promoting awareness programs on important rare and endangered medicinal plants among students and general public.
- Conducting display and interpretation exhibitions of rare and endangered medicinal plants. Involving students in planting and protecting rare and endangered trees, herbs at home and school premises.

- Labor generation for local community.
Current status of project
A detailed proposal has been submitted to IT Factory, one of the major leading IT companies functioning in Chennai. IT Factory is proud of a number of charitable activities they have supported over the years. A preliminary discussion was taken place at the company on 28-11-2007, in which Mr.Satheesh Kumar (Chairman, Shanthivanam), Mr. Manpreet Singh. (Vice President – Indian Operations) and Mr. Shivashankar (Manager – Human Resources) had taken part.

2. A garden of Endangered Species
This project is about setting up a garden of endangered species in the premises of Rajiv Gandhi Foundation for Youth Development under the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Govt. of India. The foundation is located at Sri Perumputhur near Chennai. Shanthivanam is asked to submit a proposal on this.
Current status of project
Preparation of project proposal and identification of species suitable for plantation is being carried out.
